Travel Grant

Travel grant recipients will be selected by the Scientific Committee based on the score of the abstracts. Presenting authors of the selected abstracts who fulfill the following requirements will be considered for the grant.

Notes
  • Travel grant applications are not available during the late-breaking period.
  • The travel grant is only available to applicants who meet all of the eligibility requirements and who present in Korea.
  • Foreigners residing in Korea are not eligible for the travel grant

Eligibility

  • Applicants whose abstracts are accepted for oral presentation
  • Under 45 years of age (born in or after 1979)
  • Presenting authors must register for the congress and attend the meeting in person.
  • Presenting authors of accepted abstracts must be overseas residents.

Application

  • To apply, go to the “Abstract Submission” page and select the “Travel Grant” option.
  • Applicants are required to submit their passport information as well as copies of their passport and flight ticket.

How to Receive the Travel Grant

  • Recipients will be notified via email.
  • Travel grants will be given in cash (USD) on-site at the congress after the presenting authors have made their presentations.
  • Travel grants cannot be given more than once to the same presenting author.

Tax-related Documents Required for Payment of Travel Grant

Due to the 2026 amendment to the Korean tax law, Travel Grant recipients (non-residents) must submit all required documents listed below to receive tax exemption under the applicable tax treaty; otherwise, the grant will be subject to a 22% withholding tax in accordance with Korean tax regulations.

Please note that
  • Travel Grant awardees will be notified individually in advance via email. Selected applicants are required to submit the necessary documents in accordance with the instructions provided in the notification email.
  • The original Tax Residency Certificate must be brought to the congress venue for on-site submission. Please note that the issuance of this certificate may take approximately 1–3 weeks depending on the country.
  • Even if any of the four required documents listed above are not fully submitted, the Travel Grant may still be paid; however, it will be subject to a withholding tax at a rate of 22% in accordance with Korean tax regulations.
